We are proud to have ChildFind Alberta be our Charity of Choice. ChildFind Alberta is celebrating their 25th anniversary this month, so we'd like to help them bring attention to their Green Ribbon of Hope Campaign. The Green Ribbon is recognized as a symbol to remember missing children and to seek their safe return. It is also used as an expression of our thoughts for missing children, their families and friends. You can read more about it here. http://www.childfind.com/green.php
Spring, for me, is also a time of Hope, with so many new beginnings, new babies and life seems to come alive here in Alberta in spring (and hey, don't forget Mother's Day!). Something we do to inspire hope at our house is, every night before bed, we read and then ask each other what was the best part of our day. It is very inspiring to me to listen to my three year old and find out what part of the day he remembers with fondness. Sometimes he chooses an event I passed over or didn't even pay much attention to. It makes me more aware all day long, looking for the item or items that are my most favorite. It also inspires me to provide or look for great moments or opportunities for my children to treasure. What inspires you? Let us know at Fun@momsdadsandkids.com
Happy planning,
Kimberly
Reality check!
Kathryn Bechthold of the Mompreneur Magazine said it best:
"Mother Nature must be a mompreneur ... super-busy, pressed for time, but always very passionate about what she does."
Clean Mud??
My one year daughter has found her new passion this week. She grabs the toilet paper and walks off like a penguin with it in her hand and giggles as I try to chase and catch her before she empties the whole role. So I had to find
something really cool to do with the yards of paper she rip's into tiny pieces. The result? Clean Mud!
How to make Clean Mud:
Gather some warm water
1 bar dove soap
1 roll white toilet paper.
Tear up the toilet paper into little bits (the smaller the better)
Use a cheese grater to grate soap into a big bowl.
Add ripped up toilet paper.
Add the warm water a bit a time, while mixing more toilet paper and the soap together. Mixture should be thick like cool whip, not soupy. The more you play the fluffier it becomes.
Mother's Day Crafts
Mother's Day is a great time for kids to make some homemade gifts for Mom.
Kaboose.com has a great idea on how to make a beautiful bouquet for your mother... but it's no ordinary bouquet of course! Check out their Photo Flowers craft here: http://crafts.kaboose.com/bouquet-of-photo-flowers.html
Of course, Mom will need something to put these beautiful flowers in, so why not make a Fingerprint Flower Vase at the same time? http://crafts.kaboose.com/fingerprint-flower-vase.html
Good Gossip!
We attended the Mompreneur Spring Trade show Saturday April 19th and, of course, the mom in me had to go check out all the other fabulous exhibitors. We found the cutest Tutu's by the gals at Ella Bella Creations! If you have a little girl to buy for this is my favorite. Check out how proud Sarabella is!
