I was recently on Global TV with Lorraine Mansbridge.
She asked me about how to keep kids entertained on road trips. What new products where out there to help and make traveling more fun.
We also found some amazing new First aid and safety products that we showed on air.

Summer Fun Everywhere?

Fun finding in Lacombe, AB
Friday August 21...Book this one today.
You must email me as they only have room for 3 children to join me and my two kids and meet some other great moms.
We are going to the Lady Bug Organic Gardens near Lacombe, AB with the kids to pick berries, learn how to make jam, have some fun and you get a jar of jam to take home.
Then it is off the the Ellis Bird Farm just down the road for a nature walk, some dipping into the pond to see who lives there and building and painting a bird house with the kids. Not to mention the amazing birds and tea house to see.
The day of fun is just $25.00 per child and if you would like to include lunch, $8.00

Fun Finding with the Family
What made them not want to go home?
My family spent some time in Invermere, Kootenay Park Lodge, Banff and Red Deer and found some great new spots.
We got to go to some beaches, a tourist appreciation breakfast in Invermere and high on the list was visiting many new playgrounds that I just have to share with you.
The Kootenay Park Lodge was a great stop.
As you can see the kids loved the playground overlooking the mountains and the cafe at the Lodge makes the best Milkshakes EVER according to my son and I.
They had a outdoor fire at night for roasting marshmallows or s'mores
We also stayed in Banff to visit with my best friend and her two children and we checked into the Douglas Fir Resort.
We used the coupon in the back of the book and got breakfast in the fridge for Free.
My kids could not make up their minds on where to spend most of the time. It surly was not in the hotel room.
The Gigantic 3 story (yes THREE) playground which says is restricted to 12 and under, so don't tell anyone that I tried the slide and the 3 story tree - which is so cool. Check this out.
The 2 water slides, 2 hot tubs, pools and saunas were just as good as the playground.
Did I mention the view of Rundle Ridge, where I got to tell my children that in my younger years this was the first mountain I ever climbed to the top of the first ridge.
In total we played at 4 beaches with sand toys in basket, went on many walks, tried 9 new playgrounds, swam in 4 new pools and meet some great ambassadors for Alberta that love what they do. And am excited about the new places we will be adding to the web site and next edition of The 'Little Black Book' for busy families.
And yes they cried when we checked out of the hotel saying "just 2 more days in the New Home, Please"
We made a stop at Heritage Ranch in Red Deer and made time for a walk to the river and lunch picnic on the viewing deck. We got to see some horses, lots of people floating down the Red Deer River, miles and miles of walking, biking and stroller friendly trails. So next time take a few moments and get some fresh air when driving between Edmonton and Calgary.
And remember - DO NOT GO TO ANY OF THESE PLACES - if you don't have treats to bribe them to get in the car when leaving.

The "Parents Against Recession Hair" Facebook group and contest are for parents who are banding together to help prevent other parents from cutting their kids hair.
Join this photo contest/online support group to if you are recovering from a "do-it-yourself" haircut gone wrong or know someone who should stop cutting their kids hair.
