Jurrasic Forest

Is your little guy obsessed with Dinosaurs? Take him to see these gigantic life-sized and startlingly realistic dinosaurs live and breathe in Jurassic Forest. A 40 acre preserve located just 15 minutes from Edmonton.

If you haven’t been this is definitely a place to visit this summer. So add it to your Bucket List and make it a must see this summer.

When you arrive it’s like you’re walking into a giant compound with their giant wooden doors to keep those life size dinosaurs inside. You start in the entrance building where there is a mini museum with some dinosaur artifacts. Here is where the only bathroom is so you better stop there before you head outside as well as the place where you can rent the cool dinosaur carts to carry your kids or your stuff.

As you walk out the doors into the forest there are a couple rideable dinosaurs that you have to try out, make sure you do up the seatbelt. My little guy found them a little scary.

We followed the path into the first into first step into the Jurassic period. It’s beautiful wildlife hides some of the dinosaurs that start to move and make noise as you walk by. They are on a sensor and have a quiet period between each active period so you may have to back up and wait to see them move.

After you are finished the first pathway there is a second one to see more dinosaurs or stop in the sand pit where you can dig for dinosaur bones, sit in the dinosaur eggs, go down the slide and come out a dinosaurs mouth, or ride a dinosaur. What fun!

My little guy loved the slide it was hard to get him away.

The digging was very cool. They had all the tools you need. And this is what we found.

There is a picnic area there and a concession but I highly recommend that you take your own picnic lunch. The concession was was quite expensive and didn’t have a lot to choose from, just the basics, hotdogs, chips, and popsicles.

But other than the concession we really enjoyed the Jurassic Forest. They are opening this year on April 27, 2012. Click here to check out more.
