Send your Kids to School with a Waste-Less Lunch!

Kimberly Schick-Puddicombe was talking about waste-less Lunches on Global TV with Lorraine Mansbridge. I found the coolest items for your kids this school year that will make you the STAR MOM.

What is a Waste-Less Lunch? Think of all the snack packaging, juice box containers and wastethat goes into making lunches. Times your child’s lunch waste by 1000 more children x 5 days a week for every week of school. That is a lot of garbage going into our landfills, which doesn’t need to. Therefore, if you can buy items in bulk, you save money and the earth.

Here are some ideas and places that you can get some of these items. These retailers are some of our favorite places and you will find most of them in The ‘Little Black Book’ for busy families™ Please be sure to tell them where you found them. Thanks, I appreciate your help here. Or visit www.MomsDadsAndKids.com

laptop lunch kitFirst, I called Cheryl from Heads Shoulders Knees and Toes located at 12418 102 Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5N 0M1P: 780.455.2727 she had the coolest products such as the Laptop Lunch Kit. The kids love it because it looks like a laptop case, just like mom and dad. It has a Bento Box inside (which you can buy separate also) that has five washable lunch containers and a water bottle inside all neat and tidy. It even comes with a Lunch making cookbook so mom does not have to struggle for lunch ideas the kids will throw away. Justi insulated lunch box

They also had a purple Justi insulated lunch box that has one of the greatest inventions inside. It has a plastic zipper insert so that you can take it out and wash it. You know what spilled juice smells like? This helps keep the lunch box looking and smelling fresher, longer.

Pam Linage from Baby Rhys showed me the Lunch Wrap I think is great for younger kids. It has separate pouches for your lunch wrapcontainers, utensils.

I even found it to be a perfect fit for my reusable Norwex wipes and Handcare disinfectant. Call Pam at 780.433.7497 or email her at info@babyrhys.com and Carla from That Norwex Girl can be reached at 780.461.6123 for great Norwex products that are environmentally friendly. Norwex wipes

Shannon Andrewko from Otter Bottles saw a need for BPA FREE bottles and she created the Stainless Steel Water bottles that kids love and come in three different sizes and some great new colors. Many of our retailers are carrying these bottles and for more information visit www.OtterBottle.ca

Also from Heads Shoulders Knees and Toes is this polka dot stainless steel bottle made by the Mismatched Company that is sure to be a hot item with the girls.

rosti mepal bpa free plastic bottleMy son loved the Rosti Mepal bright green chemical free, BPA Free plastic bottle that has a pop up spout made in Switzerland. It comes in a few other bright colors and I found them in the Colourful Cook in Canmore, AB. Call Donna and ask her to send you one. 403.678.3922. They also have a store in Cochrane called Pots & Peppers owned by Claire so call her at 403.932.1175.

Also at the Colourful Cook, Kimberly found these two utensils for the kids that they will just love and are sure to eat lunch. beetle spoon

First, the Beetle spoon that looks like a beetle when put together and very compact. It comes in its own container and when the purple wings spread out it is definitely a great little spoon. They come in three different colors in both a spoon and fork.beetle spoon

The Bambu spoon and fork is a 2-in-1. It is compact, and fits perfect in smaller hands. It is light, environmentally friendly and is dishwasher safe. Now you only need one utensil.Bamboo spoon

So just a few of the items I found that you could provide your children with when they go back to school with fall. They will have the lunch box and tools that will be the envy of the lunch crowd. You will be the SuperMOM.
