Rustler's Guest Lodge
Rustlers Guest Lodge: Sundre, Alberta. A true family get-a-way. My first visit to Wilma’s place was on my way back from meetings in Calgary. I had stayed at a hotel the night before with a convention of truckers and was looking forward to her pool. When you get thru the big rustic welcome gate and “Welcome, please walk in” sign -haven’t had that at a hotel. I was greeted by my host Wilma Wallace; it was like meeting my favorite aunt.
She showed me around 4 acres of wooded spruce trees, 8 rooms, 2 of which are set up for
families, the lounge area and she graced me up with a housecoat & slippers. I strolled across the road to the Sundre Golf Club which was newly renovated and enjoyed a delicious steak sandwich and apple pie that grandma could have made. Then I back to my new digs to enjoy lounging by the pool. Little did I know I was about to enjoy two hours of reading by a pool that I had all to myself. I sat on the pool deck and looked out the patio to see a baby deer just born at the edge of the woods. Now if that wasn’t the coolest thing. Sorry I didn’t even have a camera.
Just so you know I have never been to Sundre before this and this past weekend I had yet another occasion to take my family there due to an event. So I was very excited to book the family into my second stay. We packed up the bathing suits and paddle boats and off we went. This time it was like going back to stay with my aunt, she welcomed me and my children and gave the same great hospitality as she did the first time. We got to use the pool slide, hot tub and if you organized your trip and wanted a pedicure by the pool Wilma has just the perfect friend to call for that. She makes the best breakfast, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, bacon and eggs with cuppa tea to go along.
We had so much fun in the pool, again to ourselves, even though there was others staying. We met and visited with other guests’ visiting from Edmonton, Saskatoon, and even Texas. She has a
medium sized conference room that she tells me ladies use for their Scrapbooking or Yoga weekend retreats. Be sure you give the Rustlers Guest Lodge a try and reserve your family get-a-way today. Wilma can be reached at 1-403-638-4389 or at Rustler's Guest Lodge
