Moms, Dads and Kids is the Only |

Sylvia Daoust is the founder of Sort-it-Out and helps customers tackle one space at a time. Moms, Dads and Kids was featured on Global TV with Lorraine Mansbridge, and publisher Kimberly Schick-Puddicombe consulted with Sylvia to helped find a way to get the kids dressed in the morning with out meltdowns. Her suggestion is to get a invest in a hanging cloths rack with 5 different compartments and every Sunday night with the kids gather and pick out the clothes, sports clothes and items they will need for each day. This helps the morning rush and allows the kids to get dressed while you are getting everything else ready. Check out the two examples of hanging organizers.
You’re trying to get out the door, can’t find the hat or mitt so you make the kids wear mismatched ones. I’ve done it!
We came up with a drawer system that has a basket for each child to place their mitts in one drawer, hats in another, and the everyday shoes or boots in the bottom. I have another basket for extra special shoes that we don’t wear everyday and I find this cut down on going thru all the shoes at once – every morning.
She also showed me another way to use baskets on a shelving system as seen here. Why not put all your children’s library books on the wall so you don’t forget to take them back.
We added this IKEA scarf holder, which has 4 columns. I used a column for each family member. I even got a hook and placed the backpacks on this, which worked well.

Sylvia also recommended the Busy Family Daily Organizer shown below that she found at Zellers. You will see here that Sylvia also says you can create your own organizer with a basket or container and add some file folders that match your décor.

I just love the Chalk Squares also; you can put them at your back door to help remind you of things to “pick up” on your way home. You can place them inside your cupboard or in your children’s play area or room so they can draw pictures on. They even come in airplanes and other cool shapes. They are available at Winners, Home Hardware, Zellers, and

Another type of Wall system is the Remarkable Wall shown here. They come in packages of four and you can arrange them in many ways. They are dry erase, so kids can draw on them, you can make notes or squares for each member of the family or put your own photo under it as a wall graphic. www.wall-links.com
