Resolution Ideas
Create your own or steal mine!
* Finish all of those projects that you started with passion and then display them or use them.
* Find a more efficient way of getting the housework done this month. That might include getting a new equipment.
* Be more positive and offer encouraging words to those around
* Listen more, don’t interrupt or assume you know what others are going to say or think. Imagine what you will learn.
* Get your year in order – Plan your birthdays, family time, holidays, functions, classes and get things in order for those events. Businesses make a plan every year and if you run your home like a business why not have a yearly plan in place
* Get your financial affairs in order. This might be a scary one to some, but even if you do something it is more than most people do. Don’t ignore this one.
* Find a way to 'GIVE’ to others for a whole month. You can give your time, money or donations of "stuff" you don't need anymore.
* Make your home more “GREEN” even if it’s just changing the light bulbs or changing the way you sort your garbage, every little bit helps see http://green.cbc.ca/ for easy and quick ideas.
* Sort your family photo’s – who doesn’t have a gazillion photos on the computer and none to actually look at. Be sure to send in your favorites to our photo contest. You could be like Kori Stewart of Calgary and win $300 just for sorting photos.
* Learn something new every day.
* Here is one I like Treat ME Month! Pick the month you were born in and make this month about YOU. Give yourself 5, 10, 15 minutes or a hour a day to do what ever you feel you need. But just because it’s for you doesn’t mean you shouldn’t put this in your day timer just like any other appointment.
* Make yourself a Book of Gratitude. Every night before we go to bed we ask our son what his favorite part of the day was. I learn so much about his world and how he sees it. But what are you thankful for each day? What was your favorite part of the day? Be sure to start your day with this one it will give you a new perspective. Or why not start and finish your day with 2 thinks each time.
* Exercise and eat better – for a whole month, I am sure something will wear off that will follow you into the next month.
* Play More with the children – How often do the kids say ‘Mom can you help me or play with me or read to me? Our answer, not now Honey, or I need to finish… Well this month let them pick something to do every night together. Especially in times where we are watching our finances there are lots of ways to keep this type of entertainment free.
* Family Dinners – commit to eating together, no TV, actually talking about everyone’s day or what the next day will bring.
* Send a note or letter - when is the last time you got a something in the Canada Post other than a bill. Make someone's day, it doesn't need to be long, just personal and hand written.
Have you given up making resolutions?
Do you think they are hokey?
You know you won’t follow thru anyways so why even try to make one?
You can hardly make 30 days. And really what needs 365 days of fixing?
I looked it up and here is what I found
res·o·lu·tion
Pronunciation: \ˌre-zə-ˈlü-shən\
Function: noun
1: the act or process of resolving: as a: the act of analyzing a complex notion into simpler ones b: the act of answering :solving c: the act of determining
I have not made a resolution in two years, not with a pen and paper anyway. I secretly thought of things and left them in my mind, knowing it wouldn’t get done and so this year I am trying something a bit different and
I Triple Dog Dare you to try it this!

(Yes, these are my Dogs, Kasper, Kiwi & Kenya)
Here is the twist.
Start a new project every month in 2009; Yes I am going to committed to a new project new each month. Just think of what will get done! WHAT have you been planning on implementing but never got around to doing, How many ideas have you had that are sitting on your shelve or worse still in your head.
Here’s what happens if you DON'T work ON YOUR BUSINESS!
You get STALE. You are predictable, dull and boring. When customers don't see NEW ideas or products, they move on. They want to be on the leading edge, they want spark and creativity, so Be the one to provide Ideas to solve their problems. How do you do that?
You Work ON your business. That gets your sparks going and gets you excited about change. It also gets you out of the procrastination dull drums. Where you just get stressed about meeting budget or finding new customers.
Let’s make it EASY!

I hear you already, "where will I find the time, How will you find 12 different projects to work on?" Here is the easy part, I never said I was going to make them so hard that I would dread doing them.
You have to write them down - that is vital.
I have brainstormed a few ideas on the right hand side you can use or think about what frustrates you thru the year and try to pick a month that it works best to focus resolving that goal or project. My business coach always tells me to “15 Minute” my way along. And It works. I bought a timer and commit to doing projects '15 minutes' at a time and then move on to the next item. And i always do the YUCKY or DREADED projects first thing in the morning.
If you come up with one of your own that you would like to share, send me a email
Take your commitment seriously and tell me you are going to take my Triple Dog Dare email me and we can help each other. Everyone needs a bit of help now and then. Even ME.
