Live Like You Were Dying

This is truly the most amazing ride I have ever seen. Most of you know I am a big animal lover of all kinds and an avid horse person. My friend Carmen Freemark from Freemark Photography (check her site out also) sent me a link. Now I don't often click the link, but I am so glad I did. I have watched this video every morning for inspiration since she sent it.

No saddle, no reins, and a song that goes perfectly with the moment for her!

For those folks that have only ever ridden the K-Mart pony, let me tell you this is amazing! Stacy is in her 20s - her Dad just died 24 days before this performance. You can hear the announcer read her dedication to her dad and even the announcer has a hard time fighiting back his tears, so turn up your speakers a little bit.

Notice that it is just her and the horse - no bit, no saddle. She just uses signals and verbal cues, and she's mute. Oh yeah, this isn't even her horse. She is training it for someone else, although she obviously has a relationship with this one. It should be her horse because she is definitely one with this animal.

This young woman is an EXCELLENT rider! Notice that her bum never leaves the horse even when it's running or making those sudden stops.

All I can say is WOW!

Now on my Bucket list I would be honoured one day to meet Stacy and tell her how she has inspired me and my 3 year old daughter. After watching this video my daughter asked if we could go try that on our horses.
So we went out riding and here is a photo of our 1 year old Quarter Horse, Shasta and the kids after riding one of our other horse, Charlie.
