What Does Spring Mean to You and Your Family?

Celebrate Spring & Easter in a Myriad of Memorable Wayspussy willows

Spring... I think it's here! To me it is about the buds of pussy willows sprouting on the trees, muddy puddles, long car-wash line-ups, muddy dogs...which means carpets and towels at the back door.

Spring brings fresh things...such as signing up for classes to learn something new, yoga to stretch out the legs and my mind, starting to plan the Easter Egg hunts, coloring of the eggs...and, for me, it always brings fond memories of our wedding many years ago (can this possibly be a reminder to my husband who reads this?).

It also means reading or long walks in the sun, sunglasses, adding new colour to my closet and home, Spring jackets and finally wearing white. It bring the excitement of starting outdoor projects, gardening, flowers and, for those of us with dogs, clean up of the "yardies" that the snow covered up.

Our children are extra-excited about the impending arrival of our new foal that is due any day. I am Sooo looking forward to watching them see a new life being born and being a part of something they can watch grow with them. I am not sure I will ever get them in for dinner after it arrives.

I have some exciting news to share with you and want to remind you of a few ways to Save Time and Money by using the Coupons from of our advertisers at the back of The 'Little Black Book' for busy families™. If you haven't got a copy, Spring is the perfect reason to find a new adventure to try with the family. Come get your children Finger Printed for FREE and see me at the ChildFind Alberta Booth at the Moms, Pops and Tots Fair.

New and Exciting News!

I am so excited to be able to share this with you!

When we were in New Zealand a few months ago I found a new product that was flying of the shelves. I am now excited to let you know that I have just secured the Canadian rights for them and I want you to be the first to try it out. They are a revolutionary new line of Socks that you are going to LOVE!! FatSox TM

FatSox

Professor Frank Ellis Elgood, who I met, discovered a new type of polymer fabric that he has been working on for the last few years and has now patented called "FloraAstra Tetrazine." Previously this product has been only used in the nutrition industry and Professor Elgood developed socks for people that he has launched and trademarked called “FatSox™” in Britain and New Zealand. The special fabric sucks the fat out of your feet as you sweat. When wearing them, as your body temperature rises, blood vessels dilate and then the socks “draw the excess lipid from your body through the sweat.” “FatSox™” are 100% washable which removes the excess fat and then they are ready to wear again and again. Warning you can only wear them for Max. 8 hours a day.

This is our first introduction to the Canadian Market so we are offering a special introductory offer $29.97/pair.
They will retail at $39.97/pair when we get them into the stores so you can save $10.00 right now.
We have every size you can imagine and they are fit both men and women.

So until April 15th you can be one of the first to try this revolutionary product at this Introductory Offer.

And just in case you own a business and would like to be the FIRST to stock them on your shelves please contact Kimberly Today!

Easter Eggs Anyone?

It's a tradition in our family to colour Easter Eggs and I can't wait till next Saturday to get this one going.
Here are a few ideas and recipes for you to try.

Easter Egg Dyeing Recipe:collecting easter eggs

You will need Food Coloring, Vinegar, boiling Water, Bowls, Tongs, Paper towels and Wax Paper.

* Boil Eggs and let cool.
* For each color, combine ½ cup boiling water, 1tsp. vinegar and 10 drops of food coloring in a bowl.
* Dip the hard boiled egg in the dye bath for 3-5 minutes. If you want a darker color leave in bath mixture longer.
* Use tongs to remove eggs, gently place on wax paper and let dry. Blot the excess dye with a paper towel.

Use Sticker(s) on Eggs:

Use vinyl stickers in assorted sizes and shapes. Try numbers and letters for guest name or birthdays.

Before dyeing eggs, place the sticker(s) on the egg. Press on firmly.

Place the egg in the dye bath for 3-5 minutes.

Remove egg with tongs and let dry completely before peeling off the sticker. You are left with the white shell color of the egg showing through your colored egg.

Tie-Dyed Eggs:

Gather Olive Oil, Fork, Wax Paper and Paper Towels

As well, here are a few tips for Easter gifts and treats. Plastic eggs are a great place to hide a note for scavenger hunts or Bunny Grahams in chocolate, honey or cinnamon. Books on anything Easter include Chickens, rabbits or inspiring books.

Do You Have a Cell-Phun?
Egg Painter - iPhone/iPod Appeaster eggs

As my Assistant, Sharon, has a penchant for electronic gadgets, she suggested a few neat kid-friendly things she has found lying around the Internet... things that you can easily load onto your iPod or iPhone that can keep your kids busy in a pinch.

Thinking of Easter, check out Egg Painter, an App that brings a traditional egg decorating experience to the iPhone/iPod. It's intuitive and easy for kids to create a great work of art.

Kids are given a basket with five blank eggs to decorate. Finger painting with easter colors is fun and personalizes each egg. There are also some cute spring stickers to make the eggs extra special. The basket can be filled with your own personalized eggs for easter and they can be decorated over and over again.

Email me to tell me what you think...would you like to see more kid-friendly / sanity-saving Apps in the future?
