The Creative Kids Museum, located at TELUS World of Science – Calgary, enhances children’s creativity and learning through hands-on discovery. As the first children’s museum in Western Canada, this museum is a space that brings art-based learning opportunities to children of all ages, because art plays an important role in the development of a child’s tolerance, self-confidence and individuality. Through interactive exhibits children can, among other things, explore the different ways to make music in Sound and Music, stage a puppet show in the Theatre and draw or paint in Scribble Dee Dee.
The Creative Kids Museum hosts a variety of special events, workshops, exhibits and free programs, like Artist Space and Saturday Morning Art Drop-In, for guests.
Artist Space is a permanent space in the Creative Kids Museum dedicated to residency opportunities for local artists. In three to four week intervals, artists of a variety of media set up shop to share their work and teach guests new art skills.
Visit the Creative Kids Museum and participate in Saturday Morning Art Drop-In each week from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. With a new art medium introduced each week, children of all ages can express their creativity and develop their artistic talents
