Be sure to ENJOY All Experiences!
I was at a conference two weeks ago where I had the pleasure of meeting and listening to Lisa "longball" Vlooswysk who has won the World Longest Golf Ball Drive 5
times and is one of my newest mentors and inspirations. She talked passionately about her drive to succeed and the "EXPERIENCES' she has had along the way that she truly cherishes on her path to success which includes a few challenges and disappointments. It is amazing how life brings you choices or paths and how each path brings you a unique set of "experiences" that only happen because of what has previously happened in your life. Experiences that you relish in and that all need to be enjoyed.
Last night I went to my first YWCA Woman of Distinction awards gala. The whole experience of being nominated, getting a makeover, hair and photos done as well as going to the nominees reception with my dear friend Ann Riddell who so kindly nominated me and is truly an inspiration and one of the most amazing "Stand by your side" Friends I could have is now ranking very high in my moments of WOW in my life.
The Gala which over 600 decked to the nines guests attended was truly amazing and the team at the YWCA are the ones who deserve an award for a flawless, magical Oscar style event was the most amazing night I have had since starting my business. I got to meet and spend some precious time with Mrs Barbra Poole, who received the Lifetime achievement award and is one of the kindest, funniest most elegant woman I might ever meet as well as meeting Ms. Leslie GoldStone who we just had one of those instant connection moments and how bizarre to find out we went to the same High School together one year apart, but it took us 20 some years to actually meet. I even got to finally meet Teresa Spinelli who won this category lasts is and is one of the great family friendly places in our publication, so that was also a Moment of Experience for me.
I did not win the "award" but I won in the most amazing way that I never imagined. When Amanda Babichuk name was announced, yes, it was disappointing, but I listened to her story and it is truly amazing. I am so proud to have been nominated along side her and the other 54 women who take things by the horns and hold on tight for the ride.
To top it off my son woke up this morning so excited to share his experiences of baking cookies with salt instead of sugar with our friend Teshia, and how they had to drive to the store to get more eggs and sugar to re-bake the most delicious cookies that we had "yes for breakfast." When he finally asked "How was your night Mom?" I told him that it was amazing, but I hadn't won - and his reply ---- "Is that important? No, Lucas eating cookies for breakfast is important."
Have the Best Weekend EVER
Please enjoy every experience you have this weekend and THANK YOU AGAIN and AGAIN for letting me be and share in your life.
